Physician Jobs
PhysicianRecruitment.com lists active physician jobs across every medical specialty and all 50 states. Our job board surfaces permanent W-2 positions, partnership-track roles, locum tenens coverage, and telehealth opportunities sourced directly from hospitals, health systems, FQHCs, multispecialty groups, and physician-owned practices. Every listing is verified, every employer is vetted, and every application is free for physicians.
Unlike open job boards that aggregate stale postings from across the internet, our listings come from active recruiter relationships and direct employer engagements. That means you talk to a real physician recruiter — not a chatbot or a junior screener — and the role is genuinely open with a defined compensation structure, call schedule, and start window.

High-volume markets include Texas, California, Florida, New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Georgia, North Carolina, Michigan, and Washington. Rural and underserved markets — Mississippi, Alabama, West Virginia, Montana, Wyoming, Alaska, the Dakotas — typically carry the largest signing bonuses, loan-repayment offers, and J-1 waiver pathways.

FAQ
Is the job board free for physicians?
Yes. PhysicianRecruitment.com is 100 percent free for physicians. There are no fees to browse listings, submit applications, or work with our recruiter team. All fees are paid by the hiring employer.
How is my confidentiality protected?
Your CV, identity, and current employer are never shared with any organization without your explicit, listing-by-listing consent. You can browse and apply without alerting your current employer or appearing on any public profile.
What is the application process?
Apply through any listing or contact a recruiter directly. A physician-recruitment specialist will reach out within one business day to discuss fit. From there we coordinate interviews, offer, and contract — typically a 90 to 150 day process for permanent roles.
How is this different from a generic job board?
Generic job boards aggregate postings from across the internet, many of which are stale, expired, or duplicates. Our listings come from active recruiter relationships and direct employer engagements — every role is verified open, with a defined compensation structure, call schedule, and start window.
What is the difference between locum and permanent physician jobs?
Permanent jobs are full-time W-2 or partnership positions with employer-sponsored benefits, malpractice, and (typically) a long-term commitment. Locum tenens jobs are short-term coverage roles paid hourly or daily, with malpractice and travel covered, and assignments running one week to twelve months.
Physician Job Salary Expectations
Compensation varies significantly by specialty, geography, employment model, and call burden. Median 2024 base pay (MGMA, AAMC, Merritt Hawkins benchmarks): Family Medicine $265,000; Internal Medicine $275,000; Hospitalist $310,000; Pediatrics $245,000; Emergency Medicine $385,000; Psychiatry $290,000; OB/GYN $345,000; General Cardiology $510,000; Interventional Cardiology $675,000; Orthopedic Surgery $625,000; Anesthesiology $420,000; Diagnostic Radiology $495,000; Dermatology $445,000; Gastroenterology $510,000.
wRVU-based productivity bonuses typically add 10 to 35 percent on top of base. Signing bonuses for permanent roles range from $25,000 (urban primary care) to $200,000+ (subspecialty surgery in shortage markets). Relocation packages average $10,000 to $25,000. Loan-repayment assistance — particularly through NHSC, HRSA, and state-level programs — can add $50,000 to $200,000 over the first three years for primary care physicians serving HPSA-designated facilities.
Geographic Incentives and Visa-Eligible Roles
Many of our listings qualify for federal and state physician-shortage incentive programs. National Health Service Corps loan repayment (up to $75,000 over two years) is available for primary care, dental, and behavioral health roles in HPSA facilities. Conrad State 30 J-1 visa waivers are available in every state for international medical graduates committing to three years of service in underserved areas. HRSA Faculty Loan Repayment, IHS Loan Repayment, and Public Service Loan Forgiveness add additional pathways. We tag eligible listings clearly so candidates can filter by program.
Rural critical-access hospitals and federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) frequently combine multiple programs — base salary, signing bonus, NHSC loan repayment, state-level loan repayment, and J-1 waiver sponsorship — to assemble total packages that match or exceed comparable urban offers. International medical graduates (H-1B and J-1 candidates) should ask our recruiter team about waiver-eligible openings in any state of interest; we maintain an up-to-date map of Conrad State 30 slot availability and historical waiver-approval timelines by state.
